Frequently Asked Questions

Using coupons
How do I use a coupon from Coupon Span?
It is simple. Find the store you want to shop at using our search bar or the store directory. On the store's page you will see a list of available coupons. Pick the offer that best matches the discount you want, click the "Get Code" button, and copy the code that appears. Then proceed to the merchant's website, add items to your cart as usual, and paste the code in the promo code field at checkout. The discount applies before you finalize payment.
What is the difference between a coupon code and a deal?
A coupon code is a string of letters and numbers (for example SAVE20 or FREESHIP) that you enter at checkout to apply a discount. A deal is a discount that is automatically applied when you reach the merchant's site through a special link, with no code required. Both work the same from your perspective: you save money on your order.
I tried a code and it did not work. What now?
This happens occasionally. Codes are issued by merchants, and merchants change them frequently. A code that worked last week may have been retired, restricted, or replaced. First, check the conditions on the coupon listing: there may be a minimum purchase, a new-customer-only restriction, an excluded category, or a geographic limit. If none of those apply, try the next code in the list. If multiple codes fail, please report it to us at support@couponspan.com with the store name and the codes you tried. We will investigate and remove broken codes from the directory.
Can I use multiple coupon codes on one order?
Usually no. Most merchants allow only one promo code per order at checkout, though some allow stacking a single code with site-wide automatic discounts (such as free shipping). Read the fine print on the merchant's checkout page to see what is allowed.
How often are coupons updated?
Our editorial team and automated systems refresh coupon listings every day. The most active merchants are reviewed multiple times per day. When a code expires we remove it within hours. When a merchant launches a new offer, it typically appears on Coupon Span within twenty-four hours.
Why is my favorite store not listed?
We aim to feature every quality online merchant that runs an affiliate program. If a store you love is missing, it could be because (a) we have not gotten to them yet, (b) they do not run an affiliate program, or (c) we removed them due to quality concerns. Please suggest the store at support@couponspan.com and we will look into it.
About Coupon Span
Is Coupon Span free to use?
Yes, completely free. No signups, no paid memberships, no premium tier, no paywall.
How do you make money?
We earn affiliate commissions from merchants when our visitors complete a purchase through our links. The commission is paid by the merchant out of their marketing budget; the price you pay is identical whether you click through us or visit the merchant directly. See our Affiliate Disclosure for a full explanation.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can browse and use every coupon on the site as an anonymous visitor. We do not require email signup, name, or any personal information.
Do you have a newsletter?
If we offer one, it is linked in the footer. We send no more than one email per week, you can unsubscribe with one click, and we never sell your email address.
Do you have a mobile app?
Not currently. The website is fully responsive and works well on phones and tablets. Add the home page to your home screen for one-tap access.
Privacy and safety
Are these codes safe to use?
Yes. A coupon code is just a string that the merchant accepts at checkout. Using one does not expose you to malware, scams, or data theft. The only thing that happens when you click "Get Code" is that you see the code and we open the merchant's site in a new tab. We do not install anything on your device.
Do you sell my data?
No. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. See our Privacy Policy for full details on what we collect and how we use it.
Do you use cookies?
Yes, for essential functionality, anonymous analytics, and affiliate tracking. We do not use cookies for behavioral advertising or retargeting. See our Cookie Policy for full details, including how to opt out.
I clicked "Get Code" but no code appeared. Why?
Some offers are automatic discounts that apply when you click through our link to the merchant, with no code needed. In those cases the "Get Code" button typically takes you straight to the merchant with the discount activated. If you see this and were expecting a code, look for "no code needed" or similar text on the coupon card.
For merchants and brands
I run a store. How do I get featured on Coupon Span?
Email support@couponspan.com with the subject "Featured listing" and include your store name, URL, the affiliate network you use (Refersion, GoAffPro, ShareASale, etc.), and a sentence about your brand. We review every submission and add quality merchants on a rolling basis.
I want to offer an exclusive code for Coupon Span visitors. Can I do that?
Yes, we love exclusive offers. They typically perform very well because shoppers know they cannot find the code anywhere else. Email support@couponspan.com with the proposed terms and we will set it up.
A code on my brand's page is wrong or expired. How do I get it corrected?
Email support@couponspan.com from an address associated with the brand. We prioritize correction requests from verified brand contacts and typically update listings within hours.
Technical questions
What is the difference between Coupon Span and a browser extension that finds coupons automatically?
Browser extensions inject code into every page you visit and often track significant amounts of your browsing data in return for the convenience of automatic coupon testing. Coupon Span is the opposite approach: a website you visit deliberately, with no software to install, no tracking across the rest of your browsing, and no upselling. We believe this trade-off respects your privacy better, but we acknowledge it requires an extra click.
Why does clicking "Get Code" open a new tab to the merchant?
Most affiliate networks require us to redirect through their tracking URL so the network can credit us if you complete a purchase. The new tab keeps your place on Coupon Span so you can come back if needed.
Do you have an API or feed?
We currently do not offer a public API. If you have a specific business use case, email support@couponspan.com and we can discuss.
