DMCA & Copyright Policy
Last updated: 2026
Coupon Span respects the intellectual property rights of others and complies with the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) of 1998. This policy explains how copyright owners can notify us of infringement and how we will respond, as well as how a user can counter a notification they believe was sent in error.
Copyright on Coupon Span
Most content on Coupon Span is original editorial work created by our team: store descriptions, coupon write-ups, blog posts, layout, and code. This content is owned by Coupon Span and protected by copyright. We license it to visitors for personal, non-commercial use of the Service under our Terms of Service.
Merchant logos, brand names, and product images displayed on the site remain the property of their respective owners. They are displayed for identification and editorial purposes under principles of fair use, nominative use, and / or with the merchant's express permission via an affiliate program agreement.
If you believe your copyright has been infringed
If you are a copyright owner (or authorized to act on behalf of one) and you believe content on Coupon Span infringes your copyright, please send us a written notice that includes all of the following information required by Section 512(c)(3) of the DMCA:
- A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or, if multiple works are covered by a single notice, a representative list of those works).
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and that should be removed, including its URL or other information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material on Coupon Span.
- Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you, such as your address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notification is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on behalf of the owner.
Where to send DMCA notices
Send your notice by email to support@couponspan.com with "DMCA Notice" in the subject line. We monitor this address daily during business days.
If you prefer postal mail, please email first and we will provide a mailing address. We do not publish a mailing address publicly to avoid the volume of unrelated mail that accompanies one.
What we will do after receiving a valid notice
Upon receipt of a notice that substantially complies with the DMCA, Coupon Span will:
- Promptly remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material.
- Notify the user who posted the material, if applicable, of the removal.
- Provide the user with a copy of your notice (including your contact details, as required by the DMCA).
- If the user submits a valid counter-notice, restore the material as required by Section 512(g) of the DMCA, unless we are informed that the copyright owner has filed a lawsuit within ten business days.
Filing a counter-notice
If you believe your content was removed from Coupon Span in error or as a result of misidentification, you may file a counter-notice. Your counter-notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location at which it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if outside the United States, the judicial district in which Coupon Span's operator may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided notification under subsection (c)(1)(C) of the DMCA or an agent of that person.
Send counter-notices to the same address as DMCA notices, with "DMCA Counter-Notice" in the subject line.
Repeat infringers
Coupon Span maintains a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts or access of users who are repeat infringers. We reserve the right to ban any user who is the subject of multiple valid DMCA notices.
Bad-faith notices
Section 512(f) of the DMCA makes it unlawful to knowingly materially misrepresent that material is infringing in a DMCA notice (or that material was removed by mistake or misidentification in a counter-notice). Anyone who does so may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. Please consider this carefully and ensure your notice is accurate before sending it.
If you are unsure whether your concern is a valid copyright claim (versus, for example, a trademark concern, a privacy concern, or a defamation concern), please consult an attorney. We do not provide legal advice and we are not in a position to evaluate the merits of borderline claims.
Non-copyright concerns
If your concern is not a copyright issue but you still want material removed or corrected (for example: factual inaccuracy, defamation, trademark, privacy violation), please email support@couponspan.com with a clear explanation. We are open to discussion and have removed content for legitimate reasons that fell outside the DMCA framework.
